Get Rid of Facial Hair Naturally

Facial hair not only looks unpleasant, but, can also cause embarrassment to some. Unwanted facial hair, if in excess, can also make your face look darker than its natural shade. There are many ways to get rid of facial hair, such as bleaching and waxing, etc. But, many of these come with their own side-effects. So, here are some natural ways in which you can get rid of those unwanted facial hair.

  Rub some Potato :

Take a potato and slice it into half. Apply some water on its surface and rub it on your face. It will lighten the color of your facial hair and will make your skin soft and supple

 Use Tomatoes :

Take a slice of tomato and rub it on your face. Do this for 5 minutes and then wash your face. In a few days, you will notice your hair color lightening.

Lemon juice and Honey :

Add few drops of lemon juice to honey and apply the mixture on face. Rub it in the same direction of the hair growth. Leave it for 20 minutes and then rinse it off. Repeat this procedure at least twice a week.

Papaya Pulp :

Take half a cup of papaya pulp and mix it with one tablespoon of milk. Make a thick paste of it. Then rub it gently on your face and leave it for 10 minutes. After this rinse it off. This mixture serves as a natural bleach.

Egg White :

If you can stand the smell of egg, then an egg white can also prove to be a good option for your problem. Add some sugar to it before applying it on your face. Let it stay, till it dries. After that rinse it off and do remember to use a toner after that.

 Home-made facial Scrubs:

You spend your time using chemical based scrubs on your face to discourage the growth of facial hair, well why not use some home-made natural scrubs:

Sugar :

Mix sugar (30gm) and freshly squeezed lemon juice (10ml), with water to make a paste. Apply it on your face and rub it in the direction of your hair growth. Rinse it off after 15 minutes using cold water. Sugar acts as an exfoliating agent, while lemon juice will act as an astringent on your face.

Banana and Oatmeal :

First take a ripe banana and mash it. Then add some oatmeal to it. Apply this scrub on your face in circular movement. Do this for 15 minutes before rinsing it off.

Home-Made Wax:

Here is a home-made cold wax formula for you. Prepare a mix of sugar (2 cups) and lemon juice (1/4 cup) in half a cup of water. Heat it on a low flame and keep stirring it. It should become a thick brown liquid. Use it when it cools down slightly. Dust the area, where you want to apply, with some corn flour or powder. Apply it using a butter knife and place a waxing strip or a clean cloth over that. Pull it off in the opposite direction of the hair growth. After this immediately apply some astringent and ice over that area to close the open pores. But remember, whenever you make this mix do not try this directly on your face. Always do a patch test on the back of your hand or arm first, to check its consistency.

Other than these natural bleaches and scrubs, It is very important to use cleansing milk especially after removing makeup. It is always a good skin care routine to use a toner every time after face wash. Excessive hair growth can also be due to imbalance hormonal level. In such a case, you must see a doctor immediately rather than trying any activities yourself.

DIY: Perfect Manicure At Home

It is extremely important to take good care of your hands. So, you would really want your beautiful hands to be well-manicured.
Getting regular manicures at a professional salon can burn a few holes in your budget. Also if you have a sensitive skin, then you would prefer to avoid the unknown chemical products used by certain salons. So, here are some easy tips using which you can give yourself a manicure at home like a pro.

Things you will need:

Here is your list of the basic ingredients:
  • Cotton balls or buds
  • A soft towel and a damp cloth
  • Emery board or nail filer or clipper
  • Cuticle cream and cuticle stick
  • Anti-bacterial moisturizing hand soap
  • Moisturizing hand lotion
  • Nail polish remover
  • Base coat and top coat
  • Nail polish
  • A shallow bowl
  • Warm water

Step-by-step Manicure At Home:

1) Remove your old nail polish by moistening a cotton ball with nail polish remover. Gently move from the base of the nail to the tip. After this, wash your hands in soapy water and gently pat dry with a soft towel.

2) Use the nail filer to shape your nails. Trim then first if needed. Then shape them by moving the filer in one direction only. Start at one edge and move to the top smoothly– don’t saw back and forth.

3) Fill a shallow bowl with warm water. Add a few drops of anti-bacterial moisturizing hand soap to it. Soak your fingers in the soapy water for a few minutes to soften the cuticles. Then pat dry gently with a soft towel.

4) Rub a cuticle cream softly on all fingers. Use a cuticle stick or a wooden stick, to gently push back the cuticles. Again wash your hands in clean warm water and pat dry.

5) Apply a moisturizing hand lotion and massage your hands till the cream is completely absorbed. Remove any excess cream by wiping with a damp cloth.

6) Take a cotton ball moistened with nail polish remover and remove the cream from your nails, before you start to apply nail polish.

7) Before applying the nail color, start with a base coat, preferably with the nail strengthening formula. Apply to all nails and let it dry for a few minutes.

8) Choose a color of your choice. Apply the nail polish in smooth strokes, moving from the base of the nail to the tip. Three strokes are ideal to cover each nail– starting with one in the middle and then one on each side. Keep a paper towel and cotton ball dipped in remover handy, to fix any mistakes.

9) After a gap of ten minutes (till the nail polish dries completely), apply a second coat on it, in the same way.

10) Again after letting it dry completely, apply a top coat to make the color last longer. The longer you let the nails dry each time, the less smudging you will have.

Weekly manicures can work wonders on your nails and cuticles. Home manicures are not only budget-friendly but also easy and give the same desired results as the salon manicures if done regularly. Your hands will look healthier, your nails will become stronger and your ring will shine much brighter on those well-manicured fingers.

Tips to Make your Lipstick Last Long

Lipsticks enhance the pouts and add beauty to face, but they can even make a face look gloomy and miserable. You can deck up in best of attire, with your face still flushed with face powder, but with the lip paint going away you would protrude a dim representation. A little attention can bring in relief and make those lips look luscious with the lip color all over it. For making lipsticks stay longer, a few things have to be kept in mind.

Healthy lips

Healthy lips can retain color in a much better way than unhealthy lips. For this, apply a thick coat of Vaseline or other lip balm as a lip treatment and leave them overnight on to your lips. In morning, lightly brush your lips with your toothbrush to shed away the peeling skin of your lips. Before you coat them with lipstick ensure you use a sunscreen added lip balm to not only retain the colour, but also protect them from the sun.

 Lip liners

Use lip liners to outline lips. It is effective in preventing bleeding of lip colors. Also, use a gentle dab of foundation on lips before you use a lipstick. Post application of lipstick over foundation, use a slight sweep of face powder and reapply the lipstick to retain the color for a longer period of time.

Non-transferable lipsticks:

For a better stay, use lipsticks which stay for a longer duration. Lip colors from certain brands come with non-transferable gloss products. Even after eating, drinking, endless talking or even kissing, the color of such products will not smudge or transfer. However, some lipsticks, having long wearing formulas, can have drying effect on lips so for that drink loads of water to hydrate your lips.

 Some essential tips:

  • Using lip brush to apply lipstick will help in spreading the color evenly all over the lips, making the lips look fuller.

  •  It is always advisable to use brighter shades of lipsticks. Even if they smudge and lighten at the end of the day, they will still have a light tint, which will make the lips look good.

  • Adding a coat of a lip gloss adds shine and makes the lip color glossy.

  • Always use lip brush or lip tubes directly. Applying lip colors through fingertips will not make them stay for long. It is because the oils in fingertips break down the lipstick formula and make the lip color smudge.

10 Tips for Getting Long Beautiful Hair

Hair  a lot of time goes into taking care of it.Every woman wants longer and thicker hair. These hair growth tips help you retain precious inches, allowing you to get the long hair you've always wanted.

1) Here is extremely great and efficient hair mask, which will not only help your hair to grow faster, but also will make your locks look more shiny, healthy and beautiful.

Mix in a small bowl: 1 egg yolk, 1 table spoon of honey, 1 table spoon of extra virgin olive oil (or linen oil) and 1 table spoon of vodka (or cognac).

Massage this mixture into the roots of your hair and then, spread to the lengths; wait for about 40 minutes. (For better results you can put a shower cup on your head and cover it up with a towel, but make sure that your special someone doesn’t see you wearing this extravagant “construction” on your head, it might not look that seductive :D). After the 40 minutes, wash and condition your hair, as usual. You will be astonished with amazing results!

2) Here is another simple hair mask that will help your hair grow faster: For this treatment you’ll need some potato juice! Yes, it might sound strange, but it works! Isn’t it the most important?! At least, potato juice smells better than an onion juice, right? (Onion juice can be really great in helping boost your hair shine, as well as hair growth, but it smells horrible, and that smell won’t go anywhere for weeks! So, how to make our potato hair mask?

Juice 2 big potatoes, add 1 table spoon of honey and 1 egg yolk.
Apply this mixture on your hair (mainly on the roots), wait for half an hour and wash your locks, as you usually do. This hair mask is amazing and it’s all natural!

3. Try warm oil scalp massage. It’s a very easy trick, but it works wonders! This treatment works wonders for the hair growth and makes your tresses look very shiny and healthy

Just heat up a little bit of oil (Any oil of your choice like olive oil, coconut oil, argan oil and jojoba oil); never boil the oil, slightly warm it up, so that it’s pleasantly warm and comfortable to touch, then, massage your scalp with this treatment. If you have someone else to gently massage going through the roots of your hair, this can become even more pleasant! This scalp massage can last for about 20 minutes, then spread the oil on the length of your hair, wait for about half an hour and wash your locks thoroughly. Not only this experience is very relaxing, but also, you will love the result.

4.Try castor oil hair treatment. It’s all simple: just massage your scalp with castor oil and leave it overnight; then, the next morning, wash and condition your hair as usual.

Do this treatment once or twice a week for couple of weeks and you will be astonished by the amazing result! It works wonders for hair growth! Also, castor oil can help you to grow longer lashes and thicker eyebrows!

5.Vinegar rinse. Not only vinegar can help boost your hair growth, but also it can tremendously change the appearance of your locks – of course, for better – hair becomes shinier, stronger and healthier!

Add 2 table spoons of vinegar into 1 litter of water and rinse your hair with this “self made healthy conditioner”, do it as the final step of your shampooing/conditioning process. If you aren’t a fan of vinegar odor – add a couple of drops of your favorite essential oil into your vinegar rinse (or you can mix lemon juice with water instead of vinegar in the same proportion). Great and simple, all natural, but most important – it works!

6.Brush your hair every day for 1 or 2 minutes, do it every morning and every evening to stimulate circulation in your scalp.

Make sure to massage your head gently, it’s not working by a principle “the harder you push the faster it grows!”. Remember, never brush your hair when it’s wet, because it can damage your locks and cause breakage. We don’t want it, because we love our hair, right? :)

7.Massage your scalp every time you shampoo your hair. Do it gently, use your fingers, massage your head for about a minute or two, push and move the skin around your head, it will stimulate the blood flow and help your hair grow faster.

The best thing is to wash your hair as per your hair type. For curly hair, shampoo your hair once a week and for fine, straight hair, it is good to go for two or three washes.

8.Mayonnaise - The Natural Conditioner: Healthy and beautiful hair starts with a healthy scalp…It’s logical, right? This is why it’s important to take a great care of your scalp! Here is one easy tip: never apply a hair conditioner on the roots of your hair! Not only it will cause the loss of volume and your locks might get oily very quickly, but also, some hair conditioners contain waxes and silicons, and if you apply them on your scalp, it can prevent the skin on your head from breathing and clog pores. Apply your hair conditioner only on the length of your hair.

Applying mayonnaise is a good way to condition your hair, making it more manageable and shiny. It’s as easy as combing mayonnaise all over your hair and then rinsing it.

9. Eat protein! It is important to keep your hair healthy from the outside with products, love and care. What about from the inside? Not only our exterior efforts, massages and sophisticated masks are important, but also, if you really want to have thick and beautiful hair, watch what you eat! Did you know that food can make a tremendous difference in how fast your hair grows?

Protein provides a building material for your locks to grow quicker, look healthier and be stronger, so include in eggs, nuts, fish, chicken, red meat, etc…include these into your balanced diet. Eat healthy. Your hair will say: “Thank you!”.

10.Care for your hair while you sleep. Probably, you are wondering – how in the world is it possible to care for my hair while I sleep? Yes, it’s, actually, easy as pie. First of all, never sleep with a tight ponytail or a tight braid, it definitely won’t help your hair grow faster and can even cause breakage of your hair and pains in your scalp.

Make a loose ponytail instead. And second tip for a night hair care is – try to sleep on a silk pillow case, it won’t cause friction and it’s much kinder to your hair, than cotton pillow covers. And, by the way, silk pillow is not only beneficial for your hair, but also for your facial skin. What a wonder is this silk! Healthy and shiny hair plus wrinkle free skin! Just perfect

DIY: Hair Dye Recipes

Making and using your own Natural Hair Dye is way more fun than anything you can buy out there.

This is for all who want to keep it natural, obviously. These homemade hair dye recipes contain pure natural ingredients. That is a seriously safer alternative to those chemical paint jobs

And yes, it will take you a bit longer to get to the same sort of result, because these natural hair color recipes are not as concentrated. But that also means you get a more gradual result, having more control over the outcome. Not only are they easy and fun to make, but also very affordable or downright cheap and you probably have the ingredients already somewhere in your kitchen cabinet.

Make the ultra-strong chamomile tea, let it steep and cool down for about 20 minutes. Mix it together with the yogurt and the lavender oil until you have a smooth consistency

Cantaloupe-Ginger Juice for Beautiful Skin

This complexion-enhancing concoction will help improve your skin from the inside out and have you glowing in no time!

A one cup serving of cantaloupe provides your daily requirement of Vitamins A & C, which are both excellent free-radical scavengers and collagen-promoters.  Cantaloupe is also rich in Vitamin K, Omega-3 & -6 fatty acids, Potassium, Folate, Magnesium, Vitamin B6 , Niacin (B3), Thiamine (B1), and the anti-oxidant powerhouse, Superoxide Dismutase (SOD).  The Vitamin A found in cantaloupe aids in cell turnover, which helps your skin to look bright and glow, and the high SOD activity exerts a potent anti-inflammatory action.  These melons are also rich in water.  Since our bodies are mostly made up of water, it's necessary to get adequate amounts, so when you consume this tasty fruit you are hydrating your skin at the same time, which reduces the look of fine lines.

Like cantaloupe, ginger can also increase skin's radiance and decrease inflammation related to skin conditions such as acne and psoriasis.  Ginger has antiseptic qualities, which renders it effective in killing the bacteria that cause acne. Ginger may help lighten age spots and improves circulation.  Ginger's powerful antioxidant, gingerol, not only fights skin-damaging free radicals, but also promotes smoothness and evenness of skin tone and texture.

Ingredients: (serves 2)
1 cantaloupe
2 inch piece ginger

Instructions:  Wash the rind of the melon (to remove bacteria).  Cut cantaloupe in half and remove seeds.  Cut off the rind if it is conventional.  If it is organic, you may leave the rind on (cutting the rind off increases the sweet taste).  Cut into juice-hopper sized slices.  Juice 1 to 2 inch piece of ginger; start with less and add more to taste.

Watch your skin GLOW!

DIY Pineapple Face Mask

Pineapples are not only a delicious tropical fruit, but they contain a variety of different ingredients that can help to improve the quality of your skin as well. Pineapples function as a natural exfoliate for your skin, helping it to look youthful and free of blemishes and pimples.
While many face masks combine chemical treatments and other artificial ingredients into a product that is designed to exfoliate your skin, pineapple uses all natural components and is much less expensive. You can make your own pineapple face mask at home so that you can benefit from the natural astringent properties of this fruit.

Mixing the Pineapple
One standard sized pineapple should be sufficient for your face mask. Begin by cutting off the top and the bottom of the pineapple. Next, cut along the outside of the pineapple skin where the eyes are. The eyes run vertically down the sides of the pineapple. The idea is to remove all of the outside skin of the pineapple so that you’re only left with the yellow interior.
Cut the pineapple into smaller chunks that are roughly bite size. You can use the entire inner portion of the pineapple for this. Place all of the chunks in a blender and blend them at a low speed until you end up with a liquid paste.

Adding Other Ingredients
There are a number of other ingredients that you can add to your pineapple mixture in order to better enhance the quality of your pineapple face mask. One of the most common is olive oil. Add in a couple of teaspoons of olive oil to the mixture as well. Olive oil will moisturize your face and help to aid in the exfoliating process that will be brought about as a result of the pineapple mixture. It also will wash off of your skin without leaving any greasy residue or other signs as well.
Another common ingredient to include in a pineapple face mask is honey. Place a single teaspoon of honey into the mixture to act as an irritation reducer. Honey can eliminate wrinkles and puffiness that may form around the eyes and on other parts of the face as well.
Blend all of the various ingredients that you’ve put into the mixture together. Then you’re ready to apply the face mask.

Applying the Mask
Begin by washing your face thoroughly with soap and warm water. Dry your face off with a towel. Apply the pineapple face mask substance to the entirety of your face and leave it to sit there for 15 minutes or so. When you’re done, scoop off the pineapple substance and throw it away. Next, rinse off your face with water and wash it with soap if you desire.

It brightens the skin, adds gloss to your hair and can even lift away stains from your nails. Check out all the ways you can incorporate a little ACV into your beauty regimen.

Give your hair body and shine: after you shampoo, apply 1/2 tablespoon ACV mixed with 1 cup of water, then rinse.

Toner:
Use apple cider vinegar in place of your regular toner. Drench a cotton wool ball with water first, and then dip it in the vinegar. Sweep it lightly over your face and throat, avoiding the eyes. It will promote clarity of complexion, diminish discoloration and age spots and help to clear away pimples.

Detoxing Apple Cider Vinegar Face Mask:

You will need:

- A cup of Oatmeal
-A tbsp. of Olive Oil
-A tbsp. of Apple Cider Vinegar

Method:

Blend all the 3 ingredients and make a nice little paste. Apply a thin layer to the surface of the skin. Leave this on the skin for 20 minutes. The oatmeal is going to be very calming, and it's actually also a bit hydrating. The olive oil is great because it does soften the surface of the skin, and it's also a natural anti-inflammatory. The apple cider vinegar is something a lot of you don't know is an incredible detoxing ingredient. It really flushes the toxins out of your pores. It's going to revitalize your skin and make your skin look alive again.

Rinse the mask with tepid water, and you're going to be absolutely amazed at how clear, clean and glowing your skin really looks.

Acne remedy:
ACV kills bacteria and balances skin’s pH level. It also absorbs excessive oil from our skin, which is a leading cause of acne. Mix one part vinegar to 3-4 parts water. Apply solution directly to your skin with clean cotton pad, and leave it there for about ten minutes. After ten minutes, rinse off the vinegar. Repeat this three times a day. For severe cases of acne, the solution can be used overnight without rinsing.

Soothing Bath Soak:
The next time you get ready to slip into a warm bath, add one to two capfuls of apple cider vinegar. It draws toxins out of the body, leaving behind toned and moisturized skin.

Stain Remover:
Soak stained fingernails in a bowl of pure apple cider vinegar for twenty minutes. Rinse, and massage a small amount of olive oil into each nail bed. Likewise, swish a mouthful of it between your teeth to promote a healthy oral environment and also assist in lifting away mild stains on your teeth.

Sunburn remedy:
Relieve the pain of a sunburn and minimize peeling by applying a wash cloth soaked in apple cider vinegar to the area.

Foot Soak:
Give yourself an at-home pedicure by soaking your feet in equal parts warm water and ACV. Its anti-fungal properties will keep your feet healthy, soft, and clean.

Alleviate age spots:

Apple Cider Vinegar contains sulfur that fights the effects of aging, including age spots. Dab age spots, or liver spots, with ACV every night before you go to sleep. Do not wash off the vinegar. If you feel a stinging sensation, dilute the vinegar with water. Wash off in the morning. You can also mix 1 tablespoon orange juice with 2 tablespoons ACV to fade age spots.

Natural Deodorant:

ACV absorbs and neutralizes odors. Simply rub a bit of ACV in your underarms. The vinegary smell dissipates once it dries.

Wart Removal:

Warts are treated with apple cider vinegar in a different way. The method is to soak a small cotton wool ball in it and use tape or a Band-Aid to keep the soaked cotton wool there against the wart for as long as possible. This is either done in the morning and kept on all day or before bed and worn overnight. For even faster results change applications in the evening and have it on around the clock.
