4 Easy DIY Beauty Treatments

Although there are a host of fantastic beauty products on the market today, sometimes it’s nice to go back to basics and utilize the foods that contain natural beauty benefits. After you’ve graduated from the good old cucumber slice as a natural eye de-puffer trick, there are tons of other earth-friendly recipes out there that can be executed using yummy products from your fridge. Who knew that playing with your food could be a good thing? Here are four fun treatments to whip up at home:

1. Skin Revitalizer: Beauty Mask with Fruits

Ingredients: 3/4 cup cherries ; 1/4 cup pineapple; 1/2 cup blueberries; 2 bananas; 4 tbsp of honey; 1/2 cup plain yogurt
Recipe: Pour all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Apply to a clean face and leave on for five to ten minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water and gently pat dry.

2. Oil-Fighting Face Exfoliator: Berry Skin Scrub
Ingredients: 3 medium strawberries; 4 tbsp of raw honey
Recipe: Remove stems and cut strawberries into small pieces. Mash into a ball with a spoon until smooth. Fold in honey and gently mix until evenly distributed. Massage scrub on clean skin for three minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water and gently pat dry.

3. Delicious Body Exfoliator: Grapefruit Coconut Scrub
Ingredients: 3-4 large grapefruits; 2 tsp of raw coconut oil; 1/2 cup of sea salt; 3 tsp of grapeseed oil
Recipe: Zest all the grapefruits and add zest to a bowl, along with the other ingredients. Mix together thoroughly and gently apply scrub to body. Rinse in the shower with warm water and pat dry. Store scrub in an airtight container in the fridge for future use.

4. Super Shine Booster: Avocado Hair Mask
Ingredients: 1 ripe avocado; 2-3 tbsp of olive oil; 1 banana; 1 egg
Recipe: Pour all ingredients into a blender and blend until the mixture has a chunk-free, cake-batter consistency. Apply one quarter of the mask to dry hair and leave in for 10 minutes. Rinse, shampoo, and stick the leftover in the fridge.
