Making and using your own Natural Hair Dye is way more fun than anything you can buy out there.
This is for all who want to keep it natural, obviously. These homemade hair dye recipes contain pure natural ingredients. That is a seriously safer alternative to those chemical paint jobs
And yes, it will take you a bit longer to get to the same sort of result, because these natural hair color recipes are not as concentrated. But that also means you get a more gradual result, having more control over the outcome. Not only are they easy and fun to make, but also very affordable or downright cheap and you probably have the ingredients already somewhere in your kitchen cabinet.

Brightens your hair; both yogurt and chamomile have brightening properties
What do you need:
1/2 cup plain unflavored Yogurt
1 cup very strong Chamomile tea (use 5-6 teabags)
5-7 drops Lavender essential oil
How to do it:
Make the ultra-strong chamomile tea, let it steep and cool down for about 20 minutes. Mix it together with the yogurt and the lavender oil until you have a smooth consistency
Apply it to your dry hair and make sure you cover all of it, from root to end. Cover your head with plastic wrap and leave it for 30 minutes
Finally shampoo it out and condition
Lemon juice & Chamomile tea natural hair dye
Natural hair dye for blond highlights
What do you need:
1/2 cup fresh Lemon juice
4 cups very strong Chamomile tea (use 6-8 teabags)
How to do it:
Make the ultra-strong chamomile tea, let it steep and cool down for about 15 minutes. Mix it with the lemon juice
Wet your hair with warm water and make it towel dry. Rinse your hair twice with the same lemon/ chamomile mixture; leave it in for about 1 hour sitting in the sun (if available)
If you can do that while thinking positive and happy thoughts and reading your favorite magazine or book, that will give the whole process a giant boost……at least it will boost your mood for sure
Finally, wash it out and condition
Tip: to get some serious results you will have to do this every day for at least 2-3 weeks. It might seem a bit long but this way you certainly have more control over the end result and you can decide to stop at your shade of choice

Walnut husk natural hair dye
What do you need:
Walnut husks
Water
How to do it:
Coarsely crush the walnut husks and cover them with water. Put it on the stove and let this simmer for 5-6 hours replacing vaporized water
Strain the water, take the husks and put them in a piece of cloth. Squeeze to get as much water out as possible and pour it back in the pot. Boil it until you have about ¼ left
Mix this with a teaspoon of ground cloves and put it in the fridge for a day, stir it regularly
Before you use it strain the liquid through a piece of cheesecloth. Now shampoo your hair, close the sink and place a large bowl in it. Hang over this to rinse your hair repeatedly with the mixture; about 15 times. Don’t forget to put on gloves because it can seriously stain. After the last time leave it for 5 minutes and rinse it out with fresh water
Tip: if this sounds too complicated you can also boil the crushed walnut husks for 1 hour and then squeeze them and take the colored water to rinse your hair. This might work for people with lighter hair, and seeing it’s a simple rinse it will not color as strong as the more complicated version
